    The Project Manager role is central to the success of Vasona Networks and our customer deployments. The role combines professional project management disciplines in a small team to support and grow the business. As a critical technology provider to major mobile network operators globally, Vasona Networks must at all times demonstrate to our clients that we can deliver quality solutions that meet their demanding requirements.  The Project Manager holds a pivotal customer-facing position to ensure we achieve customer success by providing clear project structures, management and governance.

    Job Description
    The Project Manager role is multi-faceted, requiring the management and successful delivery of customer trials and deployments within North America. Projects will include delivering our SmartAIR and SmartVISION products, determining product specifications, ordering/shipping, installation/commissioning/testing and ongoing product support. This will require a structured approach working closely with multiple shareholders – internal teams, external partners and, most critically, our customers.

    The Project Manager responsibilities include for overall leadership, management, oversight, communication, and project coordination Vasona Networks’ customers.  Projects may vary in size and scope and will require a flexible approach and may require tailored project management solutions. The Project Manager must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently. The position requires the day-to-day management, direction, and coordination of project team personnel and subject matter experts from multiple functional areas within Vasona Networks (Field Engineering, Customer Support, Sales Engineering & Solutions Architects, Engineering, Marketing, Sales), as well as communication and coordination with key external stakeholders (customers, partners) to ensure successful project execution.  The Project manager will be a key company representative with a broad range of senior technical, functional management and subject matter experts within Vasona Networks and our customers. The Project Manager will help structure, guide, facilitate, and oversee project planning, project progress reporting and execution.


    • Work closely with Regional Sales Managers, Pre-Sales Engineers and Solutions Architects at early stages of bids and RFI/RFPs to ensure proper product fit for purpose
    • Facilitate the definition of the project scope, goals, and plans to meet deliverables
    • Define the project tasks and resources profiles required to complete the tasks (MS project plan)
    • Monitor and control allocated resources, including people, budget and infrastructure
    • Flag project concerns/issues, take responsibility for project go/no go decisions
    • Lead the project team(s) to deliver projects successfully on schedule and meet stakeholder expectations
    • Manage project scope using effective change control
    • Manage risks, issues and dependencies to successful resolution
    • Manage the quality of deliverables
    • Produce regular reports and presentations for project governance
    • Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, project teams and senior stakeholders
    • Contribute to the development of project management methods and standards
    • Report internally on project(s) status
    • Work with Sales to proactively upsell Professional Services
    • Travel 30% to 40%


    Qualifications and Required Skills:

    A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant area of study.
    Proven project management experience; managing telecommunication projects (7+ years).
    Project Management training and certification a plus

    Tools: Competent user of MS Project (or equivalent) and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
    Technical knowledge: Telecommunications (RAN, Core, IP networks, plus NFV and MEC Edge Computing).
    Personal: Excellent communicator, methodical, organized, outstanding leadership and people skills.
